Just in – data from our newest Earth-observing satellite, PACE! With PACE data, scientists can study microscopic life in the ocean and particles in the air, allowing us to monitor ocean health, air pollution, and impacts of climate change. More: go.nasa.gov/4aNNGe2

Great to hear a Nightingale back at Fen Drayton RSPB this evening, just north of the car park. With 2 Bittern, Cuckoos, Turtle Dove, Willow Warblers, many Garden Warblers, Hairy Dragonfly and 50+ Variable Damselfly it's great to have it an easy bike ride away down the busway

A whole year of record breaking ocean temperatures. This warmth has significant effects on ocean ecosystems. A large fraction of the world’s human population rely on protein from the ocean to live. Disruption to life in the ocean does affect us all. bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…

Absolutely furious 🤬 this evening to see 80-100m of bank side vegetation bulldozed at Milton Country Park. The management team should be ashamed as birds would definitely be on nests around this woodland pool in the middle of May Wendy Blythe South Cambridgeshire District Council Mark Williamson

Oil spill in Vardø; tragically more then 200 birds, mostly Puffins and Guillemots, have been recorded with crude oil on their plumage. The oil spill origin is still unknown, but this comes at a critical time as the birds are well settled in the bird colony for the breeding season

Breaking news - literally..! There’s been a surprise #iceberg calving on the #Brunt Ice Shelf in Antarctica, near Halley Research Station. The berg is about the size of the Isle of Wight or Las Vegas. A section broke off at a 90° angle from a chasm called the “Halloween Crack”.
