Dr. Eberhard Renner is my boss. Working for him last 5+ years was transformative. Wanted to hear what we thought he might be missing...never wanted sycophants. That's leadership.
A huge loss. And an urgent message at a critical time.

Shawn F. Gremminger Most jobs can schedule, say, a twenty minute appointment and make it twenty minutes exactly. Doctors can’t do that. In my field, neurology, I could have two twenty minute follow ups in a row that are stable and doing well. Easy peasy, I’m on time.
Or I could discover that…

This week decided to listen to audiobooks while crossing things off my work to-do list.
This week is Dr. Jillian Horton We are All Perfectly Fine, which has been such a gift to listen to.
I missed this until now! Dr. Nancy Olivieri was a whistleblower. As thanks, she was smeared at every turn. Many say her kind of principled courage isn't possible. That prophecy quickly conditions apathy. She's a HERO. She deserves all this recognition & more.

Rebroadcast today on CBC Radio's Ideas. Loved sharing this talk Wilfrid Laurier University in Nov as part of the Edna Staebler Award & getting it onto airwaves thx to the amazing Nahlah Ayed & team.
Healthcare remains a five-alarm fire. Nothing's changed.
