The UN independent fact-finding mission confirms other reporting of systematic rights abuses, war crimes, crimes against humanity and CRSV by SAF and RSF and child recruitment by RSF + JPA sigs. It recommends an impartial PoC force to protect civilians in #Sudan #KeepEyesOnSudan

The failure of #Sudan's warring parties to spare, much less protect, civilians is no surprise - the track records of the RSF & SAF were well known before Apr 2023. Codes of conduct & stated commitments to protect civilians aren't worth the time it takes diplomats to write them.

The RSF looting Sudan's cultural heritage and then selling it eBay feels like an apt metaphor for this war, the profiteering coming from it and the banality of our collective benign neglect. The country's identity isn't just being stolen, its been sold for cents on the dollar.
