"The first proposals for the emerging Greater Cambridge Local Plan explicitly set out that the plans are entirely dependent on water supply being available without unacceptable environmental harm.” But current development is causing unacceptable harm! cambridgeindependent.co.uk/news/picturesq…
It is widely known that CB City & SCambs are in a high water stress area. The UK is heading for drought orders. Plans to pipe water from elsewhere may not be possible to meet the needs of agreed & proposed growth. Time for a rethink? Friends of the Cam CPRE Cambs/Peterboro
Oh dear @Danielzeichner Not a good look for any politician. And no wonder you didn't accept my invitation to join campaigners trying to save the River Cam and surrounding special places from development and abuse from Anglian Water and Cambridge City Council
To avoid upper Cam reaching all time low, flow is augmented from an aquifer borehole! STW outflow is most of what’s in the river but is so heavily laced with Phosphate that it is killing the natural ecology of the river. Feargal Sharkey ChalkAquiferAlliance
Fews Lane Consortium is asking South Cambridgeshire District Council to agree to mediation to resolve ongoing disputes about the groundwater collapse affecting Longstanton. If you support this approach, please sign our petition. chng.it/7fjfK7Cz9T
Coton may not be as pretty as some of the better known surrounding villages but it certainly done not deserve to have Greater Cambridge Partnership South Cambs LibDems 🔶 C2C busway ploughed through it. Coton is supportive of better public transport but please use existing infrastructure.#ClimateEmergency
This was the Environment Agency’s position on the development of Northstowe new town in August 2020. You have to wonder exactly what has happened since then to change their minds.
