The OCSWSSW needs to have a proper action plan and time scale for mandatory training and yearly refreshers on IPV and coercive control.

2. The OCSWSSW response highlights how systemic failures will continue due to obvious indifference. It’s the kind of lip service you would expect from an organization that has failed so many and will not modify. The leadership there needs to change. Shame on them. No effort.

1. The OCSWSSW put out their response to the DVDRC’s recommendation REQUIRING mandatory training and yearly refreshers on IPV and coercive control. Their response was to do basically nothing except to “remind” about obligations for competency. It’s so pitiful and useless.

I was honored to join my esteemed colleagues yesterday to celebrate the passing of #Keiraslaw (Jennifer Kagan (forlittlekeira)) provincially and federally.

Through this law, Keira’s legacy will continue to live on.

It was such a privilege to join in celebrating Keira’s Law and hear such dedication by Effie Triantafilopoulos and others to the ongoing work of protecting survivors of domestic violence and their children.
