Having cPTSD is like living in an echo chamber but when you scream to hear your voice, it echoes back the words of all the people who’ve abused you, lied to you, manipulated you. It’s blindly trusting that each step taken to heal will one day help you hear your own voice again.

The greatest trauma in abuse is when those who should have protected you and helped you, end up causing you more pain.

when I was an evangelical, ppl told me 'In the end, your abusers/perpetrators will stand before God & give an account'

while I no longer believe in 'Judgment Day' I had some hope of justice & accountability back then. but now, there is neither - in this life or the next, for me.

people shouldn't have to ask for help the 'right' way to get it

It’s a huge sign of growth when you’re kind to yourself on your hardest days. We’re under so much pressure that when we don’t know why we’re hurting, we spiral & add to current pain. Sometimes we need to realize we’re already at a breaking point & what we need most is kindness.
