We live in a funny world: just making the most of it, 1 day at a time. Tweeter. Liberaler. A frog slowly cooking in Musks cauldron.

It’s odd how little this has broken out beyond farming twitter: the UK’s harvests this year are going to be *terrible* for wheat, barley and several other crops.

Beyond the other effects, that bodes ill for politicians betting the farm on inflation.

Iain Blackford on on extremely dubious ground trying to argue away the issue of SNP appointing yet another FM. The only reason the Commons doesnt explicitly vote is that it's a waste most of the time: the leader of majority party has a visible majority., no need to vote.

In fact, if Keir Starmer becomes the 58th PM of this country, he’ll be the FIRST to have completed an undergraduate degree at an English university that was not Oxford or Cambridge. Not sure whether that’s a “fancy that” or a moment in “breaking barriers to opportunity”.

Just logged into Twitter for the first time in months. I’ve been away writing an exhaustive biography of Hamza Yousaf, who I characterise as a generational political force who will lead Scotland to independence.

Anyway, now to take a big gulp of Irn-Bru and check the news.

Ten years ago - even after Crimea - I did not expect to find myself so hawkish on Russia, but Moscow has made its choices.

In the past few days alone, we've had

- Wagner-linked arson in the UK
- Murder and assassination in the Czech Republic
- Potentially catastrophic GPS jamming in the Baltics

Russia is quite deliberately waging war on the West.

A lot of chat about an election again, and a reminder: Scottish Parliament elections are on a fixed five year timetable (unless an extraordinary election is within 6 months of that due date), and therefore an election now would give a parliament serving less than two years.

The best part? The Šapošnikov also bought this villa in Greece, which Unit 29155 has used as a safe house in Europe. Up until 2020, you, too, could rent it on Booking.com or Tripadvisor. No shit.

'We might have been a bit more inclined to cooperate with him,' says one Labour member of the Scottish parliament, 'if the SNP hadn’t spent the past 20 years telling voters we were all kinds of pieces of rubbish.'
