Another weird phenomenon. Female and male athlete with identical Fly 10 times. They 'race' head to head at same distance and it's not even a close call. Kids will run fast if all you can do is race.

Weird phenomenon. I'll have a 1.1s Fly 10 race a 1.17s Fly 10 head to head. The 1.17s will win at the same distance.
Kids will run fast despite what the 'If you're not timing you're not sprinting' folks will tell you. Throw 'em at me.

Spent some time with kids yesterday explaining our speed data. You could see the wheels spinning. It was great. Knowing the difference between peak and average speed gave them a better understanding of how fast they really are. Or in some cases, are not.

You have to train all-year. I consider 'time-off' as part of the yearly plan. Operative word--PLAN.
