I've gone out of my way to support physician associates, on the grounds of inclusion and teamwork, but it is impossible when some of their group double down on clearly unsafe practise, which is best described as unconscious incompetence, where they don't realise their own limits.

The idea that shareholders 'invest' in water companies is a lie. One told over and over again by both water companies and regulators alike.

Agree but not surprised. RCPL spent many years leading the PA project, many of those leaders are still in place - to change direction would mean they were wrong - no kudos in that! Also RCPL has shown it hasno problem disregarding the very clearly expressed views of its members.

Sounds like it’s time for another EGM at RCPL! Once this document is published it will be too late to take it back, it needs stopped NOW. Kings Fund suggested that last EGM may have been delayed to let the PA bill pass through parliament - don’t let the same thing happen again.

Dr Rachel Clarke NHS England GMC My surgery's new website now shows both GPs and PAs on the 'Doctors' page. There is no explanation of the difference. GPs are listed with their full name and qualifications whereas PAs are only listed by first name, but there's no explanation of what they are.

Here is the thing regards #PhysicianAssociates & scope Anything you deem to be 'ok' and is more than what a FY1 doctor can do? Means there is a 'quicker' route to be an FY1 rather than 5 years in medical school And giving validity to views that PA > FY1 Time to decide AoMRC

Buried in this excellent article is a startling statistic - PAs have been disproportionately deployed in socioeconomically deprived areas We talk about tackling health inequalities but the very fabric of the healthcare system is driving inequalities if a less skilled workforce

We still don't know the details of the contracts Royal College of Physicians has signed with government that were referenced during the EGM. If this is outcome there will clearly be consequences - need transparency on this and exactly what has been signed away (and who consulted).

This is an issue of enormous public concern GMC. If your public consultation on your intended regulation of physician associates closed on 9 May why haven’t results been shared with the public? How long are you going to keep Dr Rachel Clarke & the public waiting for a response?

I am a UK trained oncologist. If tomorrow I want to perform an endoscopy or angiogram, I can’t. I work within a national scope of practice determined by 17 years of academic rigour. A Trust deeming me competent is irrelevant. PAs don’t get a free ride
