Another query for Tristan Bantock - does this look OK for female Eurygaster maura? Out of range in the Suffolk Brecks? But no gap to the side of the genital plate?

Today's mystery find from under an oak tree transpired to be a caterpillar of the Festoon (Apoda limacodes), a very southerly-distributed species. It was on the first page I opened in the field guide!😁

After Annie Northfield's post last year, I was determined to go to St Osyth to look for Henestaris halophilus. After 2 trips with nothing, it was 3rd time lucky and I swept one from Sea Purslane. Very happy! I will Irecord. Tristan Bantock Rockwolf 🇪🇺💙🩸🅰️➕

Result at Rainham Marshes a few weeks ago, I was very excited to find juveniles of Mottled and Rambur's Pied shieldbugs. I think a return trip is in order, they might just be adults by now ..!

I don't think this can be anything other than the flatbug Aradus cinnamomeus, from Norfolk today. Not very widely recorded if NBN is to be believed... Tristan Bantock

This week's nice finds: Small Grass Shieldbug (Neottiglossa pusilla) and Chrysolina sturmi, both new species for me. The Chrysolina was particularly stunning😍

Definitely was not expecting this tortoise beetle to key out as Cassida hemisphaerica!

Next to plenty of White Campion (and Rhombic Leatherbugs) on the Norfolk/Suffolk border Coleopterists Society of Britain and Ireland

A simple guide to tell male and female Plain Tiger (Danaus chrysippus) apart. Male has the extra, large spot, on the hindwings.

Swarming Scarabs. Thyreocoris scarabaeiodes en masse in our Yorkshire garden. The dry, sandy soil with Field Pansy, and Violets in the shadier areas, is obviously ideal habitat. A tiny species which can be difficult to spot but much easier in numbers. Tristan Bantock

A couple of Ring-legged Earwigs (Euborellia annulipes) found under a pot in an Essex garden centre. Not sure how frequently this species is imported, but I've never seen them in the UK before.

Eyeless, cave living Dysderidae - the fantastically-named Minotauria fagei from Melidoni cave, Crete. Mentioned in the cave brochure, but I wasn't expecting to actually find one!

Difficult to get these right as there's so much variation within & between the species, but I think I have three species of Eurydema here: E. ornata, E. eckerleini and E. spectabilis from Crete. The ornata were teeny tiny!
