Dominic Minghella I’d love to see Sunak putting that much effort into sorting out the Post Office scandal. If he’s got lots of spare courts and judges, they could get on with clearing the names of the innocent Post Office workers.

For something I'm writing, I once again sought out this seminal statement from The Bullock Report (1975). I don't think I've ever heard a better explication of the nature of exploratory talk, why it's important, what it looks like and the conditions needed for it to work well.

2 year old development always comes up at conferences and in discussions. Don’t think because the way you do things for 3-5 year olds it’s the same for 2 year olds. They have not yet grasped many things a 3 year old can do. So start with the child in the Now. Focus on movement 👍

If a Rwanda flight does take off…

Your bills will still be as expensive

Your wait for a GP/hospital bed will still be as long

Your court date will still be as delayed

Your taxes will still be as high

…but we will all be more more morally & financially bankrupt as a nation

Tory MPs have just voted again to insist that Afghans who worked for our armed forces & who put their own lives at risk for our country can be sent to Rwanda.

Against military advice.

And against the pledges Ministers made to support those who supported us

The breaking story of Trudi Warner’s vindication, and the embarrassment it will undoubtedly have caused to the Attorney General, is BIG NEWS.

Here we will update a thread with articles as they come in:

Thanks to Mr Sunak for the effort he made for the teenage girl in my constituency who waited 5 years for her rape trial.

A short list of disciplines dismissed by the evidence-based practitioners of hashtag cogsci:

❌Developmental psychology
❌Clinical psychology
❌Sociology
❌Critical pedagogy
❌Affective neuroscience
❌Linguistics
❌Situated/embodied/social cognition

What else am I missing?

Oh joy.
Seriously, you cannot make this stuff up, except apparently you can.
Sian Griffiths would appear to have been premature with her 'leak' suggesting the government were on the brink of revisiting single word judgements. 😡

The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Trudi Warner exits the Royal Court of Justice with her head held high - she is innocent of any wrongdoing.

“Her placard simply summarised the principle of jury equity. Her conduct was consistent with information sharing.“ - Mr Justice Saini

Great thread on how adults who respond with openness & curiosity help a child who is struggling in their behaviour. Thank you for sharing Ricky . It shows other adults (some of whom are teachers) how this can be done. You show us it is possible. Ta.

You had me at:  “I contest the narrow perceptions of what has been called the science of reading movement and focus rather upon another contender for the science throne—that of Developmental Science.” (from the abstract)

I think we miss a trick if we try to jump a stage for children rather than thinking about what they didn't get early on. Why are children self-regulated learners? How do we replicate the way they got to that? 😊
