Will this weekend be the last chance to see the Red-breasted Goose at ? It and the Brent Geese it associates with appear to be increasingly twitchy, surely soon to head northwards on their migration back to Siberia. Photo by Paul Sullivan. Here are today's sightings

Have you heard a cuckoo yet? One has been singing at the reserve for the last week. Just one of the birds to hear on our walks this Sunday, ending with a delicious breakfast. events.rspb.org.uk/framptonmarsh to book. Here also are today's sightings. 📸 Ben Andrew, rspb-images.com

First Ringed Plover nests have been found at Gibraltar Point (a week earlier than usual). The reserve continues to support 20-25 breeding pairs on an annual basis. Please be careful to avoid walking on any shingle ridges along the beach and any Shorebird Sanctuary areas.

Sunny conditions and distinctly warmer weather over the past couple of days. Is it summer? Well, here's one swallow, courtesy of Steven Quantrill... here too are today's sightings, plus a look at the almost completed arrivals board for spring migrants.

Following a good morning of Breeding Bird Surveys down near The Wash, I popped into RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 for a couple of hours. As always, an enjoyable visit with plenty of rares and breeding birds on show. Two Common Crane flying low overhead were probably the highlight, though!
