There are over 200,000 reasons why it would be a travesty for Tory MPs and members to re-elect Boris Johnson, but none more compelling than this one.

Yesterday, one of our students nearly fainted at school because she hadn’t eaten. We gave her two apples. She ate one, and put one in her bag for her younger sibling. Talking about cost of living isn’t enough. Our children are starving.

In case anyone is wondering: the Privileges Committee inquiry into Johnson will continue unless and until a motion tabled by the government rescinding the original motion is carried by the House. I think it’s highly unlikely such a motion would carry. 1/2

Thatcher was Prime Minister for over 4000 days, Major & Cameron around 2000 each, May & Johnson just over 1000 each & Truss on around 50. Extrapolating this along an exponential trendline suggests that by mid-March next year we’ll have a new Tory Prime Minister every few seconds.

How can he possibly be considered for the leadership with that investigation ongoing?
